Prospect Highlight: Johnny Manziel

Johnny Manziel  may not be the best quarterback in the 2014 draft class, but he is by far the most exciting. The 2012 Heisman trophy winner, "Johnny Football," looks forward to the draft and hopes that his play on the field can win over NFL teams. Johnny Manziel has been one of the most talked about college football players in history. His electrifying play on the field and his "party boy" lifestyle off the field have given him positive and negative attention. From a football standpoint, Johnny Football has showed that he can carry his team and has displayed an athletic skill-set that is rarely seen. With the NFL Combine approaching, Manziel is expected to display his athleticism and perform at a high level. Most mock drafts have him as a Top 3 Quarterback and a Top 10 Overall pick. Manziel will look to make his mark in the NFL like he has in college football as a dynamic athletic quarterback. In Mel Kiper Jr. first mock draft he has Manziel going number one overall to  the Houston Texans. Kiper says that Manziel has stellar play making ability. Manziel has had to overcome adversity on and off the field. Manziel fits the "new-age" NFL Quarterback mold. He has defined the term escapability and can make plays with his feet. He also has a solid arm, that make him more of a complete quarterback. Critics of Manziel say that his size might be a factor, the six foot 208 pound QB, has been said that he will have durability issues in the NFL.However, Manziel will not be the only QB in the NFL who has been criticized for his size, Drew Brees and Russell Wilson both said to be undersized, have proven their success on the field as masters at their position.

  1. How about that NCAA debate about forming players unions. Apparently, Northwestern players are trying to form a coalition but the coaches and staff are voting against it.
